Program, in the Department of Educational Psychology, Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, at the University of Oklahoma, seeks an Associate Professor with a demonstrated record of strength in teaching, supervision, and research, along with a primary professional identity as a counselor educator. The successful candidate will serve a nine-month, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2027. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and background. The Program

The Professional Counseling Program at OU offers professional preparation at the master's degree level for qualified persons wishing to become clinical professional counselors, school counselors, and/or drug and alcohol counselors. The program offers (1) a 60-hour CACREP-accredited Clinical Professional Counseling track that meets the state of Oklahoma LPC requirements, (2) a 15-hour Drug and Alcohol counseling track, and (3) a 15-hour School Counseling Certificate. The Drug and Alcohol Counseling concentration includes five specialized courses that have been approved by the Oklahoma Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Our primary training goals are to facilitate student integration of counseling theory, research, and practice; and to foster the development and application of holistic counseling skills. We seek to integrate varied multicultural perspectives into our students' professional training and development. A foundational value of the program is to foster understanding, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
