Job description
Criterion Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing organization as an entry‑level Associate Project Engineer based in Reno, NV. We are open to those with 20+ hours a week in-person availability now, growing into a full-time role post-graduation.
The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launchpad for future leaders at Criterion Contracting. It's a dynamic position offering hands‑on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.
Job responsibilities include:
Conduct safety meetings
Create and manage punch lists
Support the Quality Control Measures outlined in Criterion Contracting’s QA/QC program
Prepare RFI’s and submittals
Determine labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
Support the implementation of the job schedule
Coordinate warranties and Operations and Maintenance (O&Ms)
Coordinate material with purchase orders and invoicing
This position is safety-sensitive.
Basic Requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
A clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught
Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
Must have critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask
Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
Works well under pressure and deadlines
Undergraduate or associate's degree completed or underway; plus for studying engineering, business, construction management or similar
Preferred Requirements
OSHA certifications
Willing to travel (locally) based on project needs
