Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and gene therapy, is looking for an Associate Scientist, Purification Process Development based in Oceanside, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension). Pay Rate: $45/hr on W2. Company Benefits: Medical, Paid Sick leave, 401K. Seeking an Associate Scientist to support purification process development, characterization, scale‑up, and technology transfer for biologics in pivotal and commercial development. The role involves hands‑on laboratory work, process optimization, GMP manufacturing support, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute purification process development and characterization studies.
Support process scale‑up, technology transfer, and implementation at internal and external GMP manufacturing facilities.
Develop and document experimental protocols, reports, and electronic laboratory records.
Required Qualifications
MS + 2 years or BS + 4 years of relevant experience in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related discipline.
Strong hands‑on experience with biologics purification process development.
Preferred Technical Skills
Chromatography and AKTA/UNICORN
Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), Normal Flow Filtration (NFF)
Centrifugation, High-throughput purification screening, Virus inactivation/removal
Process scale‑up and GMP technology transfer
Design of Experiments (DoE), statistics, and data analysis
