787 Airframe in Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate Structures Design Engineer (Level 2) for our Aftbody Structures Life Cycle Product Team to work at our North Charleston, South Carolina location.

Position Responsibilities:

Assists with developing, integrating and documenting primary and secondary structural requirements to establish the system design

Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals

Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

Collaborates and performs oversight on projects with partners/suppliers

Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

2+ years of engineering experience

2+ years of experience using CAD Tools

Experience with aircraft structural design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

2+ years of working and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to solve technical problems

1+ years of experience with design of composite material systems

1+ years of aerospace engineering experience

Experience with CATIA and ENOVIA

Prior experience with manufacturing/production systems

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $85,000 - $115,000
