Role Description This full-time, on-site Associate Veterinarian role is based at Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital in Clark, PA. The Associate Veterinarian will perform routine and emergency examinations, diagnose medical conditions, develop treatment plans, and carry out medical, surgical, and dental procedures for companion animals. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and monitoring treatment outcomes. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about diagnoses, preventive care, and home management, while maintaining accurate medical records and collaborating with veterinary technicians and other team members. The Associate Veterinarian is expected to participate in hospital protocols, contribute to a positive team culture, and uphold high standards of patient safety and client service.\ N
Qualifications
\ N Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and eligibility for Pennsylvania veterinary licensure.
\ N Clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, including physical examinations, diagnostics, and basic surgical procedures.
\ N Ability to interpret laboratory and imaging results and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
\ N Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain medical information clearly and build trust with clients and team members.
\ N Commitment to patient safety, accurate medical record-keeping, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
\ N Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and to support veterinary technicians and support staff.
\ N Comfort with handling animals of varying temperaments and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in urgent or stressful situations.
\ N Interest in continuing education and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine and preventive care.
\ N Experience in general practice or small animal medicine is preferred;
new graduates with strong clinical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
