At Companion Pet Hospital, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to the pets and families of the Hudson Valley. Our team operates in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuing education is encouraged, work-life balance is respected, and every team member's voice matters. We pride ourselves on a low-stress, client‑focused practice culture where you can truly love what you do.
Why Fishkill, NY? (You'll want to move here)
Fishkill sits in the heart of New York's stunning Hudson Valley — and once you visit, you'll understand why people never want to leave. Here's what makes this area special:
Outdoor Adventure at Your Doorstep
From the rugged trails of Fishkill Ridge — with breathtaking long-range vistas and views of the Manhattan skyline — to the iconic summit of Mount Beacon and the scenic shorelines of Hudson Highlands State Park, the outdoors here are extraordinary. Whether you're a hiker, mountain biker, kayaker, or just someone who loves a good sunset, Fishkill delivers year-round.
Close to NYC — Far from the Chaos
Fishkill is just about 75 miles north of New York City, with easy access to I-84 and Metro‑North rail. You can be in Grand Central Terminal in roughly 1.5 hours by train — close enough for a night out in the city, far enough to escape it every single day.
A Thriving Food & Drink Scene
Fishkill's dining scene punches well above its weight. From the beloved Dutchess Biercafe (winner of Best Burger and Best Outdoor Dining in Hudson Valley) to Italian gems, farm‑to‑table spots, and cozy local bakeries like Bert's — there's always somewhere new to explore.
Real Estate Value & Small‑Town Charm
Fishkill offers more home for your money compared to nearby Beacon and Westchester, with a charming Main Street, highly rated public schools, and a strong sense of community. It's consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in New York.
Culture, History & Fun
Explore Revolutionary War history at the Van Wyck Homestead Museum, catch a Hudson Valley Renegades minor league baseball game at Heritage Financial Park, or take a sunset cruise on the Hudson River. Art galleries, paint‑and‑sip nights, farm events, and seasonal festivals round out a full social calendar.
Safe, Welcoming & Family‑Friendly
With a crime rate well below the national average, highly rated schools, and a dense suburban feel where most residents own their homes, Fishkill is an ideal place to put down roots — whether you're starting a family or looking for your forever home.
