Associate Winder PositionAt Hyosung HICO we're transforming the future of energy from our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN. By investing in cutting-edge technology and empowering our diverse and talented team, we ensure that every transformer we produce meets the highest standards of quality and performance.Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill an Associate Winder position. The ideal candidate will set up and operate winding machines needed in the manufacturing of power transformers.OUR BENEFITS – BEST BENEFITS IN THE INDUSTRY!Free Medical Insurance Option – A company paid 100% medical insurance option for you and your family, effective on the first day of the month after hire dateFree Life Insurance – Employer paid basic life insurance – 1X Annual salary plus an additional $20,000 coverage: Optional buy for dependent coveragePaid Vacation, Sick Leave, and 12 paid holidays per yearBonuses – Monthly Attendance (production and some other hourly roles), Annual, and Quarterly bonus eligibility (Bonuses are not guaranteed and are based on several factors such as company and individual performance)THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Basic set up and operation of various machines and equipment relating to the winding of conductor coils including but not limited to the vertical and horizontal winding machines and mandrels.Setup, manufacture, and finish of basic and standard coils including layer type, helical type, and disc type coils.Connect, solder, clean and braze conductor according to specifications.Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria during manufacturing to ensure that units meet exact specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.Read prints, bills of material, specifications and work instructions to determine proper materials for processing, assembly and installation.Safely move, handle and store materials without damaging items.Follow and adhere to standard work procedures, sequence of operations and consistently meet manufacturing standards for quality and productivity.Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machines.Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms as required.Assist in training of new employees including improving individual skills as well as assisting in the development of training materials.Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.Assist other manufacturing areas as needed.Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager as needed.Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.Know Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE REPRESENTS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB BUT DOES NOT EXCLUDE OTHER OCCASIONAL WORK ASSIGNMENTS NOT MENTIONED.THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Perform basic preventative maintenance and TPM on equipment and machinesAssist with completing process check sheets and verifying the work of other employees according to Company proceduresAssist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:High school education or equivalent and less than two years of training and/or experience, or equivalent education and experience.Intermediate mechanical or technical skillsExperience using various hand and power tools.Ability to read manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions.Basic math, spatial, and practical geometry skills.Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools.Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications.PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:Ability to perform mechanical assembly, set up and installation.Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairsAbility to inspect work.Ability to work in normal indoor temperatures.Ability to use a three (3) pound hammer for extended periods.Ability to stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day.Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, and kneel frequently.Ability to work in confined spacesAbility to forcefully grasp tools and materials for extended durations.Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to use basic hand and power tools.Ability to perform repetitive movement.Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hats, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.Hyosung HICO, Ltd., is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer.
