Civil Litigation Attorney (Contract)
Elmhurst, Illinois (Hybrid)
Respected law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a contract opportunity expected to run through December. This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule and is ideal for an attorney with strong litigation experience who enjoys legal research, motion practice, and insurance defense matters.
Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and summary judgment filings
Conduct legal research and prepare litigation-related memoranda
Support active civil litigation matters from case inception through resolution
Assist with trial preparation and case strategy
Handle matters in both Federal Court and Cook County Circuit Court
Attend occasional court appearances for status hearings, as needed
Qualifications
Active Illinois Bar license required
Minimum 3+ years of civil litigation experience
Experience drafting motions, briefs, and summary judgment pleadings
Experience practicing in Federal Court and Cook County Circuit Court
Insurance defense experience preferred
Trial preparation experience is a plus
Federal Civil Rights litigation experience is helpful but not required
Position Details
Location: Elmhurst, IL (Hybrid)
Schedule: Approximately 20-30 hours per week
Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Contract assignment expected to continue through December
Office Attire: Business Casual when onsite
The pay range for this position is $50-60/hour depending on experience. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
