Job description
Title: Attorney
Duration: 10/12/2026 - 09/30/2030
Work Hours: Mon - Fri - 8AM - 4:30PM CST
Location: 665 Mainstream Drive Nashville, TN 37243
Position: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent the department in administrative law cases before various health-related boards.
* Review complaints and investigations involving healthcare licensees practicing in any of Tennessee's 89 rural counties.
* Provide legal support for department investigators and licensing board consultants.
* For those cases for which formal discipline is warranted, handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trials.
* Ability to competently manage a robust case load at various phases of litigation.
* Assist with legislative projects as assigned, including bill analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
* The ideal candidate should have litigation experience that includes trials, the ability to manage and prioritize a large volume of work, excellent verbal and written communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
Education:
* JD, admitted to TN Bar with a license in good standing required. At least 1 year of relevant legal experience preferred.
