nUNC Hospitals Department of Audiology is seeking a full-time Clinical Audiologist to provide outpatient diagnostic services across the lifespan at multiple locations, including:
nnnOrange County: UNC Hospitals Hearing & Voice Clinic at Carolina Crossing

nnChatham County: UNC Hospitals Audiology at Pittsboro
n
nnWake County: UNC Audiology Services at Cary
n
n nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services in a busy ENT clinic setting. The role will focus on the assessment and management of hearing loss, including evaluation, fitting, and programming of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
nThe ideal candidate would have a minimum of one year of experience in an academic medical center working collaboratively with otolaryngologists and related professionals and experience with student supervision and clinical teaching.

n nKey Responsibilities
nnnPerform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespan
n
nnInterpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plans
n
nnCounsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategies
n
nnManage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care
n
nnConduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technology
n
nnAdminister comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologies
n
nnCounsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectations
n
nnPerform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settings
n
nnProgram and manage all available implantable devices in the adult population
n
n nThis is a full-time (40 hours/week), daytime position. Strong collaborative communication skills and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes are essential.

nEducation Requirements:
n● Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.
nLicensure/Certification Requirements:
n● Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
n● BLS within 3 months of hire date.
nProfessional Experience Requirements:
n● Audiologist experience preferred.
nKnowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
n● Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills
n● Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes.
