Job Summary and Responsibilities
nAs our Audiologist, you will be vital in enhancing patient quality of life by expertly diagnosing, treating, and managing hearing and balance disorders.
nEvery day, you will perform comprehensive audiologic evaluations, fit and program hearing aids, and provide personalized counseling and rehabilitation. You will develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
nTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional diagnostic skills, technical proficiency, strong communication, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to optimize auditory outcomes.
nJob Requirements
nRequired
nnnMinimum of a Master's degree
n
nnLicensure for dispensing hearing aids within the State of Washington
n
nnWorking knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of auditory and vestibular systems
n
nnAn understanding of the pathological states of these systems
n
nnWorking knowledge of the medical systems related to these pathological states
n
nnAn understanding of the techniques in evaluation and treatment of these states both medical and non-medical
n
nnAn understanding of the projected outcome of intervention both long term and short term
n
nnWorking knowledge of the chronology and timeline for the normal development of speech, hearing and language skills
n
nnWorking knowledge of basic electronics to modify and fit hearing aids
n
nnAn understanding of the impact of the disease processes, environmental influences, and medication influences on the human auditory system
n
nnAn awareness of the psycho-social impact of a hearing loss on an individual's ability to function
n
nnWorking knowledge of communication/education options for helping children with hearing loss reach their potential
n
nnWorking knowledge of devices and products available to meet the needs of people with hearing loss
n
nnExcellent interpersonal and communication skills
n
nnSkill to properly assess and treat a wide variety of patients with various degrees and types of hearing loss
