About Us

Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Audit & Financial Reporting Manager to manage the firm's external audits and financial-statement preparation across its domestic and international entities. This individual will coordinate with external auditors, prepare supporting schedules and financial statements, evaluate accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and help ensure that the firm's accounting records are complete, accurate, and audit ready. The ideal candidate will have strong audit and technical-accounting experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to understand complex trading activity and multi-entity financial statements. Experience with broker-dealers or other regulated financial institutions is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage annual financial-statement audits for the firm's U.S. and international entities.

Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate audit requests across internal teams.

Develop and manage audit timelines, deliverables, open-item lists, and completion deadlines.

Prepare complete financial statements, including footnotes and supporting disclosures, under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and applicable local reporting requirements.

Prepare and review audit schedules, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, lead sheets, and supporting documentation.

Review trial balances and accounting records to identify errors, unusual balances, or required adjustments before the audit begins.

Research and document complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

Prepare technical accounting memoranda and support the firm's accounting conclusions.

Coordinate audit support across Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Trading teams.

Review consolidations, intercompany balances, related-party transactions, foreign-currency activity, and multi-entity reporting.

Assist with accounting for trading positions, derivatives, investments, revenue, expenses, and financial instruments.

Maintain audit-ready documentation and strengthen financial-reporting controls.

Track proposed audit adjustments and ensure that approved entries are accurately recorded.

Improve and standardize audit and financial-reporting processes across the firm's entities.

Support regulatory examinations and other financial or accounting reviews, as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Approximately 5–10 years of relevant audit, accounting, or financial-reporting experience.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

Demonstrated experience preparing or reviewing audited financial statements and footnote disclosures.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial-statement presentation, and account reconciliations.

Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, large-data reconciliation, and financial-statement support schedules.

Strong project-management skills and experience coordinating multiple audits or reporting deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify accounting or reporting issues independently.

CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.

Public-accounting experience, particularly with financial-services clients preferred.

Experience with proprietary trading firms, broker-dealers, hedge funds, investment managers, or other financial institutions preferred.

Knowledge of broker-dealer accounting, regulatory reporting, and SEC financial-responsibility requirements preferred.

Familiarity with trading products such as equities, options, futures, fixed income, swaps, and other derivatives preferred.

Experience coordinating audits across the United States, United Kingdom, and Asia-Pacific regions preferred.

Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, foreign currencies, and multi-jurisdictional financial reporting preferred.
