Auto Body Apprentice
Bailey's is looking for an Auto Body Apprentice to join our team in Fargo, ND. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available.
If you enjoy working on vehicles, like hands-on work, and want to learn a skilled trade, this could be a great opportunity to build your career. No previous auto body experience is required-bring a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and pride in your work.
Job Overview
You'll work alongside experienced technicians who are eager to share their knowledge and help you develop your skills.
You'll begin by assisting with daily shop tasks. As your skills grow, you may receive training in inspecting vehicles for damage, removing and replacing parts, preparing vehicles for paint, and repairing damaged panels using proper repair procedures.
This position offers hands-on experience in several areas of collision repair, giving you the opportunity to discover what you enjoy most and develop your strengths.
What You'll Do
Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you'll assist with and learn:
Vehicle and part inspections
Removal and replacement of automotive parts
Auto body repair
Sanding, masking, and preparation for painting
Automotive refinishing
Buffing and polishing
Welding, as your training and skills progress
You'll also help keep the shop clean and organized, maintain tools and equipment, communicate with team members, follow safety procedures, and complete additional tasks assigned by your manager.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, honest, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
Requirements include: At least 18 years old
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
Interest in working on vehicles and learning collision repair
Punctuality and a responsible approach to work
Willingness to follow instructions, accept feedback, and ask questions
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and contribute to the team
Commitment to quality, safety, and treating others with respect
Physical Requirements
The position involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working around vehicles for extended periods. You must be able to lift up to 45 pounds and wear the personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks.
