Job description
Perform maintenance on fleet vehicles while being mindful of cost and having a reasonable turnaround time for the customer. This is a full-time position. Mon- Fri 7:00am – 4:00pm and will report to our shop in Batesville, IN daily.
nEssential Functions:
nnnInspect vehicle components to diagnose issues accurately.
n
nnConduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to enhance vehicle functionality and longevity.
n
nnSchedule future maintenance sessions.
n
nnProvide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
n
nnRepair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues.
n
nnKeep logs/records on work and issues.
n
nnMaintain equipment and tools in good condition.
n
nnPerform a variety of duties such as loading/unloading operating truck mounted forklifts, hauling, etc.
n
nnPlan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
n
nnDrive to vendors or other stores to pick up orders and/or vehicles.
n
nnDrive to Gillman Home Center store locations to service vehicles. Will be provided a work truck and gas for travel.
n
nnAssist with preparing deliveries.
n
nnPerform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
n
nnAbility to communicate with team members and guests.
n
nnAbility to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
n
nnWillingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
n
nnOther duties as assigned by supervisor.
n
n nSupervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
nWork Environment:
nThis position will be working inside at our garage but will be exposed to outdoor elements while working on vehicles outside at our shop or our stores. May have to drive to and from our store locations for vehicle drop off/pick up.
nPhysical Demands:
nLifting – should be able to lift at least 50 lbs, some bending, climbing, and driving equipment is required.
nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Mon- Fri 7:00am – 4:00pm.
nTravel: Frequently – to visit our stores to work on trucks, and to pick up parts or vehicles.
nRequired Education and Experience:
nnnHigh school diploma or GED
n
nnCertification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
n
nnValid certification (eg.ASE) is a plus
n
nnValid Class B CDL a plus
n
nnMust have experience with diesel engine repairs, gas engine repairs, and hydraulic system repairs.
n
nnExcellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
n
nnWorking knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
