nGeneral Summary:
nUnder general supervision, performs all processes necessary to diagnose and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal CarMax vehicles following prescribed CarMax policies and procedures.
nPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:
nnnProvide and maintain exceptional customerservicethrough customer contact before, during, and after repairs asdefined by CarMax “Voiceof Customer” processes.
n
nnLocate, use and control replacement parts and supply inventories
n
nnUse and control tools andequipment
n
nnPerform mechanical and cosmeticrepairs, including but not limited to the diagnosisof all internal and externalvehiclesystems.
n
nnFollow CarMax standardized workrules
n
nnInspect vehicles per CarMax Quality Standards when needed.
n
nnComplete state inspections when required.
n
nnMaintain workplacecleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standards
n
n nReview repair orders for work performed and accuracy of all labor, parts and sublet documentation for billing including opening and closing of repair orders
nnnCollect service payments and manage payments received for services.
n
nnUse of proprietary and universalsoftware systems including CarMax ElectronicRepair Order and Mitchell.
n
nnProvide functional expertise and leadership to other associates.
n
nnProvide general support to other associates and managers in the store, including, but not limited to vehicle assessment, vehicle prepping, vehicle receiving and transferring.
n
n nJob Specifications:
nWork requires ability to:
nnnComplete New Associate Orientation Training – Operations.
n
nnComplete Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
n
nnMaintain a current Refrigerant RecyclingLicense.
n
nnWhere required by State/Local law, maintain current ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4) and Brakes (A5).
n
nnRead, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
n
nnPerform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
n
nnLift objects that weigh as much as50lbs.
n
nnSpeak and listen effectively in dealingwith customers/associates in person and over the phone.
n
nnDemonstrate above average attention to detail.
n
nnManual dexterity in both arms and hands
n
nnMonitorshop compliance withCarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA policies
n
nnDemonstrateexceptional interpersonal,communication, and customer service skills
n
nnDemonstrateexceptional telephone etiquette and active listeningskills

n nWorking Conditions:
nnnCombination of office, shop and outdoorenvironment.May include working at times in noisy and/or inclementweather conditions.

nnMay requirewalking orstanding for an extended period of time.

nnFlexible work hours with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
n
nnWearsCarMax clothing (acquired through company) at all times working in the store.
n
nnFollow allCarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the useof Personal Protective Equipment, and properwaste disposal in requiredareas.

nThe hourly rate for this position is:
n$24.60 - $36.90
nBenefits:
nExcept as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
nAssociates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:
nnnTo earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
n
nnFor 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
n
n nAssociates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
