nGeneral Summary:
nUnder general supervision, performs mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal CarMax vehicles in accordance with all standards described in the CarMax Certified Quality Inspection Process and the Retail Repair Process. Additionally, performs all customer contact functions during repairs as defined by CarMax “Voice of Customer” processes, orders and maintains parts and supply inventories and properly uses and maintains all CarMax Tools and Equipment to support the store operations.

nnElectrical systems repair

nnManual drivetrain and axlerepair
n
nnBrake diagnosis and repair
n
nnSteering andsuspension repairs including 4-wheel alignments
n
nnHeating and air conditioning repair
n
nnInspect vehicles per CarMax Quality Standards when needed.
n
nnMaintain workplacecleanliness and organization in accordance with CarMax 5S standards
n
nnMaintain, repair, and clean shop equipment
n
nnInteract with all customers in a friendly, service oriented manner
n
nnConsult with servicecustomers regarding neededrepairs
n
nnReviewrepair orders for work performed and accuracy of all labor, parts and sublet documentation for billing
n
nnClose and invoice repair orders
n
nnExplain all recommendations/repairs/service/maintenance performed to ensure customerunderstanding
n
nnCollect service payments and managescash including receiving and counting money
n
nnLocate and receive shipments of parts
n
nnReceive parts into inventory
n
nnMaintain theparts inventory for neatness, accuracy (cycle counts), and correct stocking levels
n
nnControl service supplies to minimize waste
n
n nAdditional Responsibilities May Include:
nnnProvide general support to store operations to maintain vehicle inventoryand meet quality standards
n
nnSupport salesby helping to assess vehicle conditionduring the condition assessment process, prepping sold vehicles for delivery, and receiving and processing vehicles beingtransferred into or out of inventory
n
nnSet up and coordinate handling of vehicles with on lot and off lot sublet vendorswhen the needed work cannot be performed in house
n

nnRead, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records

nThe hourly rate for this position is:
n$32.00 - $48.00
nBenefits:
nExcept as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
nAssociates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:
nnnTo earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
n
nnFor 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
n
n nAssociates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
