Job Title: Automotive Diagnostic Technician (A-Level) - $25-$35/hr (Hourly, Not Flat Rate)
Location: Glendale, AZ (5115 W. Peoria Ave.)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (Stable hourly compensation without flat-rate fluctuations)
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday-Friday scheduling can be accommodated)
If you can diagnose the actual cause of a check-engine light, electrical problem, drivability concern, or unusual HVAC issue-not simply recommend parts-this shop needs your expertise.
AutoShop Recruiting has partnered with Big O Tires and Central Arizona Auto Group to hire an experienced A-Level Automotive Diagnostic Technician for its busy Glendale location. You will step into the role of the shop's trusted diagnostic authority, commanding steady work without the unpredictable drops of a commission-based flat-rate system.
Massive Backlog of Work: This location serviced 564 vehicles last month and drove over $194,000 in monthly sales with a strong $330 average repair order. We are currently turning away high-paying diagnostic work because we need your technical brainpower on the team.
Why Join This Shop? Financial Stability: Guaranteed hourly compensation-say goodbye to flat-rate fluctuations and unpaid diagnostic time.
Premium Support: Work alongside an experienced front-counter team boasting more than 30 years in automotive service who know how to sell diagnostic time.
The Facility: High-volume 5-service bay shop equipped with a dedicated alignment rack.
Work-Life Balance: Dedicated family time with flexible Monday through Friday scheduling available.
Benefits and Employee Perks Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance.
Financial Protection: Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance, plus voluntary short-term disability and life coverage.
Retirement & Long-Term Wealth: 401(k) with employer match + potential profit-sharing contributions.
Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick time.
Extra Perks: Generous employee discounts, ongoing technical training, and clear advancement opportunities.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Diagnose check-engine lights, complex electrical systems, and drivability concerns.
Troubleshoot EVAP, fuel-control, HVAC, and difficult intermittent problems.
Verify root causes using scan tools, meters, scopes, and diagnostic equipment before recommending parts.
Complete advanced mechanical repairs and component removals/replacements.
Clearly document your testing, findings, and repair recommendations.
Perform quality-control inspections and road tests, helping developing technicians improve their diagnostic process.
What We're Looking For (Requirements) Experience: Proven A-Level or strong B+ professional automotive repair and troubleshooting experience.
Skills: Expert-level diagnostic ability with a proven track record of independently testing and verifying system failures.
Tools: Complete set of professional automotive tools appropriate for the position (advanced diagnostic tools are a major plus).
Credentials: Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are mandatory.
Mindset: A reliable professional with a solid work ethic and highly dependable attendance.
