About the position:
nBrindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus (BMFA) is hiring Automotive/Diesel Technician (Fire Apparatus Technician) who provides preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles as assigned by the Lead Fleet Mechanic and BMFA Operations Control.
nLocation: Grants Pass, OR
nPay Range: $24 - $29 per hour
nStart Date: Immediate Availability
nResponsibilities:
nnPerform front line mechanical inspections, preventive maintenance and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles per Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus (BMFA) Policy and Procedures
nRespond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested
nComplete all required vehicle repair and maintenance paperwork and documentation using BMFA repair work orders and BMFA Fleet Maintenance Software
nRespond promptly to road calls, accurately diagnose, and perform quality repairs
nThoroughly document vehicle repairs and maintenance including a complete accounting of all labor hours, parts, and materials used
nProvide excellent customer service and maintain a respectful working relationship with all fleet and operations personnel; display professional conduct with outside suppliers and contacts
nIdentify and report existing and potential safety concerns to Fleet Supervision
nRotating On-Call shifts
nShared responsibility of parts ordering and research
nShared responsibility of light administrative duties
n nMinimum Required Qualifications:
nnMust have a high school diploma or equivalent education
nMust have four years of verifiable experience as a Class C - Associate Mechanic, and automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on company vehicles
nPreferred to have ASE and/or EVT CertificationsnnMust be willing to obtain ASE and EVT Certifications

nMust have a current and valid Driver's LicensennCDL preferred but not required

nMust have a full set of personal tools needed to complete basic automotive repairs:nnRatchets: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" Drive
nSockets: SAE and Metric, Standard and Deep
nExtensions: Short, Medium, Long - 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" Drive
n1/2" Drive Impact Wrench that can R &R wheels
nCombination Wrenches: 1/4" thru 1-1/8" and 6MM thru 24MM
nScrewdrivers: Flat blade, small/med/large & Phillips, 0, #1, #2
nPliers: Channel lock, long nose, linesman, wire strippers, crimpers
nPunches: Straight, Center Punch, chisels
nHammers: Ball pein, dead blow, soft, sledge
nPickle Forks
nOil Filter Wrench
nTest light, LED (Power probe or similar is fine)
nMultimeter: Voltage-OHMS-AMPS
nMechanics Toolbox on Wheels
