Job description
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Automotive Service Director to lead our service department with enthusiasm and expertise in the St. Louis Missouri market. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, manage service technicians, service advisors and support staff and ensure top-tier customer service. Your leadership will drive the department’s success by optimizing workflow, enhancing sales opportunities through upselling, and maintaining high standards of automotive repair and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the service team to deliver outstanding automotive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance services
Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and quality control
Develop and implement strategies to increase upselling and improve overall customer satisfaction
Manage estimating processes using automotive estimating software, ensuring accurate and timely quotes
Supervise service writing, and client communication to foster trust and loyalty
Monitor inventory of parts such as tires, shocks & struts, brake components, transmission parts, and oil filters to support timely repairs
Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Skills
Proven experience in auto service management with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair
Extensive mechanical knowledge
Skilled in upselling services such as brake repair, shocks & struts, and other vehicle maintenance tasks
Proficient in estimating software and computer-aided estimating tools
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and costs
Ability to hire, train and retain a team to support business needs
Strong leadership abilities with experience managing a team of service technicians, advisors and support staff
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed
