Automotive Service Writer & Parts SpecialistGreat news! Schillings is currently looking for an experienced Automotive Service Writer & Parts Specialist to join our Operations team in Mokena.This position plays a key role in keeping our fleet repair shop organized and productive. The right candidate will have automotive/shop experience, understand how a repair shop operates, and be comfortable working directly with mechanics, vendors, and operations personnel.This is not strictly a desk position. We need someone who can manage parts and work orders, be comfortable in the shop, and assist technicians as needed.Responsibilities:Source and order automotive parts while balancing cost, quality, and delivery timeTrack parts orders and ensure technicians have what they need to keep repairs on scheduleOpen, update, and complete work orders using FleetioMaintain accurate repair, parts, and fleet recordsCommunicate repair status and delays with dispatchers and company locationsCoordinate warranty claims, returns, credits, and core exchangesWork directly with vendors and technicians to resolve parts issuesAssist mechanics as needed with general shop tasksHelp keep the parts and shop operation organized and efficientQualifications:Previous automotive, fleet, parts, service-writing, or repair shop experience strongly preferredGood working knowledge of automotive parts and repair terminologyMust understand the basic workflow and day-to-day operation of a repair shopStrong computer, data-entry, and organizational skillsFleetio or other shop/fleet management software experience is a plusAbility to manage multiple repairs and priorities at onceStrong communication and follow-throughDependable, accountable, and team-orientedComfortable working both at a computer and in an active shop environmentWhat We're Looking ForExperience is an important factor for this position.
