The Automotive Technician Automotive Mechanic independently services a wide variety of vehicles, utilizing a combination of diagnostic tools and technologies. This role involves regular test-driving and occasional travel to other service locations to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition. Specialists in engine repair, brake maintenance, transmission service, and electrical troubleshooting, they perform preventive maintenance and parts replacement to keep vehicles safe and reliable.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical issues
Repair and maintain engines, brakes, and transmissions
Conduct electrical troubleshooting and system repairs
Execute preventive maintenance and parts replacement
Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
Regularly test-drive vehicles to confirm repair quality
Occasionally travel to other service locations as needed
Required Qualifications
2+ years in automotive repair
Valid driver's license
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with automotive diagnostics, engine repair, brake systems, and electrical systems
Strong problem-solving skills
