Position Description
The Automotive Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing automobiles and light trucks. The Technician provides essential mechanical and technical support to the dealership's service department and is expected to perform quality repairs efficiently and professionally.
Technicians must be proficient in the use of basic hand tools and automotive diagnostic equipment and must be committed to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality service to every customer.
Pay & Benefits
Competitive earning potential based on experience and skill level:
A-Level Technician: $100,000+ potential
B-Level Technician: $75,000+ potential
C-Level Technician: $45,000+ potential
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks.
Perform Pennsylvania State Safety Inspections and Emissions Inspections.
Navigate and utilize manufacturer workshop manuals, service information, and repair procedures.
Perform accurate measurements, testing, and calibrations according to manufacturer specifications.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
Perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
Complete written repair orders accurately and thoroughly.
Communicate professionally with service advisors, coworkers, customers, and the general public.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Properly use and maintain hand tools, specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment.
Maintain productivity while ensuring repairs are performed safely and correctly.
Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license.
Automotive technician experience appropriate to the position.
Valid Pennsylvania State Safety Inspection and Emissions licenses required.
Proficiency with basic automotive hand tools.
Ability to read and understand manufacturer service and repair information.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
