Length of Assignment: 1 year w/ extension
Type: Contract (W2)
Rate:$55/hr
Certification : Azure Cosmos DB Developer Specialty or Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent cloud data certification

Job Description/ Responsibilities :
Design robust Azure Cosmos DB data models and partition strategies that support high scale transactional workloads while maintaining predictable performance and cost efficiency for critical enterprise applications
Implement and refine indexing policies in Azure Cosmos DB to optimize query execution times and resource usage ensuring responsive application behavior in a demanding production environment
Configure and maintain Azure Cosmos DB throughput settings including autoscale options to balance performance requirements with budget constraints and provide a stable foundation for business services
Develop and optimize queries and stored procedures for Azure Cosmos DB focusing on clear patterns and reusable components that enable application teams to consume data efficiently
Monitor Azure Cosmos DB health metrics and diagnostics using cloud monitoring tools to detect anomalies early and drive proactive remediation actions that protect user experience
Collaborate with application architects and developers to integrate Azure Cosmos DB into microservice and event driven designs aligning data access approaches with overall system architecture goals
Enforce data security standards in Azure Cosmos DB by applying access control policies encryption options and compliance guidelines to safeguard sensitive information and uphold trust with customers and communitie
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for Azure Cosmos DB solutions including configuration guidelines operational runbooks and troubleshooting steps to support consistent team practices
Support performance testing and capacity planning activities for Azure Cosmos DB workloads by analyzing telemetry data and recommending scaling strategies to handle future demand without service disruption
Provide guidance to cross functional teams on best practices for Azure Cosmos DB usage covering data consistency models regional distribution choices and disaster recovery design to strengthen platform resilience –
Coordinate with infrastructure and cloud operations teams to plan maintenance windows backup policies and restore procedures for Azure Cosmos DB instances ensuring minimal impact on business processes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new Azure Cosmos DB features and related cloud capabilities and recommending adoption paths that improve reliability sustainability and societal value of digital products –
Participate in incident analysis and post incident reviews related to Azure Cosmos DB by identifying root causes and defining actionable improvements to enhance system stability and reduce recurrence
