Job description
Role Overview Build scalable backend systems that support the training and evaluation of next-generation AI models. Your real-world engineering expertise will help improve how these systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs.
Translate business needs into technical specifications and effective backend solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Improve system reliability, security, and efficiency to support seamless user experiences.
Write clean, documented, thoroughly tested code that follows engineering best practices.
Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production backend issues, addressing root causes and driving continuous improvement.
Contribute ideas and technical judgment to architecture discussions and decisions.
Qualifications At least 1 year of proven backend development experience using modern programming languages.
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling principles.
Understanding of security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, proactive working style.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, fully remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with event-driven or serverless architectures.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership on backend teams.
Work Terms Remote contract engagement.
Compensation $60 to $110 per hour.
