Job description
BakerThe Baker is responsible for producing consistent, high quality fresh pasta, baked goods, confections, and other dessert products, at the best possible price; emphasizing non-harmful products that have a low impact on the environment and supports local suppliers and producers.Wage Range: $20.00-$26.00 per hourFull Time 32-40 hours per week5am-1:30pm or 9am-5:30pm shiftsOpen Availability RequiredEssential FunctionsFollows recipes to prepare and assemble ingredients to create baked goodsEnsures baked goods are consistent in quality and quantityCreates or follows daily list of must-have productsPreps ingredients as necessaryAdheres to all food safety proceduresMaintains integrity of tried and true recipesEnsures accuracy of items that are prepared so that product and signage always matchEnsures food is readily available for the customerFollows appropriate time table for preparing and stocking bakery caseAdheres to all time goals applicable to positionActively participates in all food rotation program, adhering to pull dates and schedules.Makes sure proper signage is available for itemsUtilizes all closing and opening checklistMeets or exceeds all Co-op and health department standards to achieve safe food handlingKeeps shelves of stored food clean and organized to reduce food wasteKeeps work station clean and sanitary, including stovetops, ovens, countertops storage shelves, and walk-in shelvesMaintains safety standards and reports safety issues immediatelyAssist in the maintenance of kitchen related equipment, as neededParticipates in cleaning projects, as neededUnderstands special diet needs and which dishes to recommend for which needKnows what dishes taste like and is able to make recommendations when askedReceives product as neededAssists in inventoryAssists in training Bakery workers as neededOther tasks as assignedQualifications and SkillsPrevious prepared foods experience preferredProven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service by projecting a friendly, outgoing presence and maintaining a respectful demeanor at all timesAbility to handle multiple demands, remain calm, think quickly, prioritize effectively, and problem solve within established guidelinesAbility to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork, compassion and constant communication are essentialAbility to meet expectations of regular, predictable attendanceAbility to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekendsAbility to maintain current food handler cardMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentEssential Physical RequirementsProlonged standing and walkingFrequent reaching, bending, twisting, and rotatingContinuous fine motors skills work and gripping with handsAbility to lift 30 lbs. often, up to 50 lbs. occasionallyExposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.Exposure to temperatures such as walk in coolers and freezersClear spoken English and ability to perceive spoken voice clearlyBenefits—Depending on Hours Worked25% Employee DiscountLunch DiscountHealth Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Rx)Long Term DisabilityLife Insurance401(k)Paid Time OffIMPORTANT DISCLAIMER NOTICE: The job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that the employee may be required to perform.
