In addition to serving as a barista by preparing high-quality coffee and specialty coffee drinks for guests, the Bakery Associate is responsible for packaging, pricing, and labeling bakery products for the case and the sales floor, ensuring shelves are stocked and rotated and the department is clean and well organized.Our Values:Service: We will treat every customer like a beloved family member or friend and find a way to say "yes" to our customers. We will be quick to respond to our customers and use "Red Truck Service" when additional assistance is needed.Work ExperienceDuties/Responsibilities:Serve customers in the Bakery Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their businessAnswer questions regarding bakery/coffee products and ingredientsProviding an exceptional coffee experiencePreparing all coffee and specialty coffee to the highest quality standardsAssist with maintaining the back cooler including; rotating stock, dating and cleaningOperate, maintain and clean coffee equipment.Maintain sanitation and temperature logs as neededAssist customers in selecting bakery/coffee products and offer suggestions as neededFill and maintain the bakery casePackage, price and label items for the sales floorStock and rotate bakery products on the sales floorTake and fulfill bakery orders via phone and in personComplete daily cleaning duties in the Bakery DepartmentAssist Bakers with pouring batter, panning bakery items and preparing product for baking as neededAssist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Bakery DepartmentMaintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and proceduresAssist with all other Bakery Department duties as neededAccurately and efficiently checking-out customer orders; including accurate cash-handlingQualificationsMust be a minimum of 16 years of age due to required operation of bakery/coffee equipmentEagerness to interact with customersStrong sense of team – ability to anticipate the needs of the teamAbility to work at a fast paced and efficient mannerAbility to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervisionExcellent time management, prioritization and organization skillsAbility to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 pounds
