Job description

Basic Water TechnicianLocation: Linthicum Heights, MD Full timeThis position is responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must have the ability to perform tasks related to pumping and extracting water, as well as mold removal, and must use various types of specialized equipment under supervision. This position represents Level 2 in the progressive path of water damage restoration.ResponsibilitiesMust be able to receive and follow instructions provided by the team leader.Understand and follow MSDS protocols for chemical products used during mitigation processes.Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance while ensuring vehicles remain clean and in excellent working condition.Maintain strong attention to detail.Demonstrate mastery of the Water Damage Restoration Handbook used by Our Client.Under supervision, demonstrate proper use of scrapers, rinse rods, weighted extractors, portable extraction units, and approved water drainage and disposal systems.Build appropriate containment systems using proper calculations and equipment, including negative air machines and HEPA vacuums.Properly use cleaning and disinfecting solutions and apply debris-removal techniques in confined spaces.Utilize proper lifting techniques, sliding pads, and polystyrene foam blocks while protecting customers' personal property.Under supervision, remove vapor barriers, label recoverable materials, create airflow openings, install Injectidry, Directed-In, and Octi-Dry systems, and operate penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters.Adhere to the standards established by Our Client to safeguard customer property.Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and professionalism.Work efficiently within established timelines and project deadlines.Travel periodically and work nights and weekends as needed.Accurately document labor hours, equipment usage, and consumable materials.Attend company-sponsored operational and safety training programs.RequirementsWater pumping and extractionMold remediationMoving and resetting contentsSetting up drying equipmentApplying antimicrobial treatments as neededPerforming vehicle safety and maintenance inspectionsMaintaining vehicles in clean, serviceable conditionConstructing polyethylene containment systemsRemoving and disposing of debrisMaintaining equipment used during daily operationsPerforming additional duties as assignedQualificationsAbility to identify products, consumables, and their usage and disposal requirements following trainingKnowledge of various pump systemsEligibility to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with company policyA strong sense of urgency, professionalism, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethicEnglish language proficiency and literacyPhysical DemandsFrequent lifting of more than 50 poundsOccasional assisted lifting of more than 41 pounds (up to 50% of the time)Ability to access and work in confined spacesCapability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periodsAbility to use mobile devices for timekeeping and data collectionReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Compensation and BenefitsOur Client offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that may include:401(k) with company matchingMedical, dental, and vision insuranceDisability and life insurance coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid holidaysPaid time off (PTO)DisclaimerThe statements contained herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and required skills for this position.
