Coaching certification, First Aid, CPR, and
AED are required.
The Basketball Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a competitive and positive basketball program. The coach develops practice schedules, teaches fundamental basketball skills, and prepares players for games and tournaments. Responsibilities include developing offensive and defensive strategies, evaluating player performance, and providing constructive instruction to improve individual and team skills. The coach promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, respect, and a positive attitude both on and off the court. The coach supervises athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Duties also include communicating effectively with players, parents, school staff, officials, and other coaches. The Basketball Coach ensures that program activities comply with school policies, league rules, and applicable athletic guidelines. The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, organization, and basketball knowledge, along with the ability to motivate and encourage student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
