Job description
We're hiring: Basketball Sales Consultant (Independent / Contract) – Xero ShoesXero Shoes is taking barefoot performance to the court, and we're looking for a well-connected basketball footwear sales leader to build the wholesale channel for our basketball collection.
The collection is built on our natural-movement philosophy: shoes that keep athletes low to the court, connected to the ground, and in control. The X1 and the new X2 give retailers a true good/better pricing hierarchy, so the line has a place from performance specialty to national sporting goods. It's already on the feet of Xero basketball partners including Isaiah Stewart of the Memphis Grizzlies and Temi Fágbénlé of the Golden State Valkyries.

What you'll do• Open and grow wholesale accounts across national sporting goods, athletic specialty, and sneaker/basketball boutique retail
• Position the full collection by channel, matching the right styles and price points to the right doors
• Secure early validation partners for SS27 and build a door-by-door expansion plan
• Seed credibility accounts that signal authenticity to the basketball market
• Work closely with our Global Head of B2B on assortment, pricing, sell-in, and forecasting
• Represent Xero Shoes at buyer meetings, trade events, and in-market
What you bring• An established network of buyers in basketball and athletic footwear retail
• Relationships with accounts like Dick's Sporting Goods, Foot Locker, Hibbett, Scheels, Champs, JD Sports, DTLR, SNIPES, and Shoe Palace are a big plus
• Connections in the boutique and culture space (think Concepts, Kith, Bait, Extra Butter, Social Status, A Ma Maniére, Packer) are even better
• A track record of opening doors and launching new or challenger brands
• Comfort operating independently as a consultant, with a self-directed, entrepreneurial approach
• Bonus: relationships with international basketball specialty retail (Europe, Japan)
Compensation• Monthly retainer of $3,000–$5,000, depending on experience
• Commission on sales
• Travel expenses covered for sales activity
This is an independent contractor role, and it's US-based and remote.
