About Camden Rockport Elementary School
Camden Rockport Elementary School, nestled in a spacious setting with woods and fields adjacent to the high school, serves approximately 320 students in grades PreK-4 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRES is guided by the EL Education Curriculum and Bridges mathematics, and follows the Responsive Classroom philosophy. CRES has a robust system of support for students, and features the first nature-based public PreK in the state of Maine.
Position Summary
The School-Based Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supports the development and implementation of effective, evidence-based behavioral and instructional programming for students with diverse needs. The BCBA works collaboratively with school teams to assess student needs, develop and monitor individualized programming, support IEP implementation, analyze student progress, and build staff capacity through consultation, training, coaching, and supervision. The position is intended to promote student access, engagement, independence, and meaningful progress within the least restrictive educational environment.
This position follows the teacher contracted work day (184) plus 5 additional days for a total of 189 days. Days will be prorated based on date of hire.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of programmatic structures in the day treatment and life skills programs
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root cause of challenging behaviors
Design customized behavior intervention plans based in evidence-based strategies
Measure student data over time to monitor effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments based on data
Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings
Assist with crisis and behavior management support
Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff
Requirements
Background check, including fingerprinting
Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval
Certification as a BCBA through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
Advanced Degree required
Pay and Benefits
Pay ranges from $58,876.58 per year (Master's Degree, 0 years experience) to $102,823.19 per year (2 Masters or PhD with 20+ years experience), prorated based on start date.
