Job description
Behavioral Interventionist
The Behavior Interventionist provides day-to-day behavioral support for Mill Pond School. Work with staff to increase understanding of the behavioral needs of the students. Ensure that all students are treated fairly and equitably.
The Mill Pond Schools, with locations in Springfield and the Berkshires, serve students—kindergarten through age 22—who have social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges, a learning disability, or who may have a diagnosis of high-functioning Autism. We are committed to serving the whole child, including the child's family. Our goal is to assist students in developing the skills necessary to successfully return to a less-restrictive environment, and, ultimately, to their previous school setting.
Schedule
Monday shift, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday – Friday shifts, 7:40 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.
Qualifications
High School diploma with 3 years of experience in education or human services; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with adolescents with emotional/behavioral special needs.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Good communication and writing skills.
Ability to work as part of a team in an alternative setting.
Requires a current valid driver's license.
