Behavioral Support SpecialistLooking for dependable, compassionate Behavioral Support Specialists to work individuals with developmental disabilities who have some behavioral challenges in Kearney, NE. Hands of Heartland has been supporting people with developmental disabilities in Nebraska since 1997. We value our team members and offer competitive wages and benefits, including 7 paid holidays and tuition reimbursement for full-time team members.Starting pay is $20/hour. We pay more based on experience and education. We also pay more for current CNAs and offer CEUs to keep CNA active while working as a BSS.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide services to address the wants and needs of people with developmental disabilities, which may include:Supporting personal goalsAdministering medicationsPlanning and preparing mealsAssisting with activities of daily livingTransporting to and from day program and community outingsReinforcing therapies, including speech, behavioral support, and physical therapyEnsuring all needs are addressed in a respectful manner with dignity and personal choiceCompleting and maintaining required documentation on a web-based systemRequirements and Qualifications:Ability to be certified in enhanced behavioral interventionValid driver's licenseCurrent automobile insuranceAbility to pass registry and background checksAbility to lift up to 75 pounds as neededAbility to use verbal and physical intervention to redirect and/or to complete an emergency safety intervention with a person who is physically aggressive or self-abusiveTwo years of related experience or a degree/certification related to behavioral health preferred.Shifts and Hours:Full-time or part-time hours availableDays 7a-3pEvenings 3p-11pOvernights 11p-7aAll shifts require working every other weekend
