n nJob purpose:

nDo you want to make a difference in the lives of others? Are you 21 years of age or older? Our Behavior Technician position works with individuals to provide in-home care and services on their behalf, as well as contributes to the company and management team with the goal of improving and maintaining high-quality performance standards and reputations within the communities we serve.

nDuties and responsibilities:

nnnProvide services to individuals who are more likely to engage in behaviors, such as but not limited to, physical aggression, verbal aggression, elopement, self-injurious behavior, and property destruction

n

nnAbility to understand and implement a variety of support plans and individual service plans

n

nnMaintain compliance with federal and state standards and laws

n

nnOversee the day-to-day implementation of services within a designated caseload with the direct support and guidance of management

n

nnGather and document information in order to support individual needs and goals

n

nnAbility to track and chart data on a daily basis in compliance with company expectations

n

nnCommunicate frequently with managers and coordinators, especially in response to behavioral incidents

n

nnUphold confidentiality and privacy of individuals and staff members

n

nnAbility and willingness to fill in Direct Support Professional roles as needed

n

nnMedication administration

n

nnAssist with cash transactions, accurately track spending, and maintain receipts

n

nnAssist individuals with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, and peri-care

n

nnPerform exemplary direct support duties, with a willingness to go above and beyond

n

nnOther responsibilities as assigned

n

n nQualifications:

nQualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Other qualifications include:

nnn1+ years of experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors

n

nnAA Degree

n

nnAbility to pass a background check with the MN Department of Human Services

n

nnKnowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations

n

nnWillingness to travel to and from surrounding areas as needed

n

nnReliable transportation and a current driver’s license

n

nnClear driving record (No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years)

n

nnVehicle, driver’s license, and valid auto insurance per the State of Minnesota

n

nnFluently read, understand, speak, and write the English Language

n

nnDynamic communication skills, working techniques, and ability to multitask

n

nnGeneral computer skills/knowledge

n

nnWorking cell phone with internet access

n

nnExperience with Positive Supports and Crisis Interventions

n

nnA working understanding of the abstract nature of maladaptive behavior

n

nnAbility to read, understand, and follow specific Protocols, potentially including but not limited to, Seizure Protocol, Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Reduction Protocol, etc..
