About the Behavior Technician Position
nWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate behavior technician to join our team. Behavior Technicians are responsible for assisting behavior analysts to implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans. The candidate will assist patients with day to day activities, monitor their behavior, record and collect data on patients' progress, and communicate with clients. You will provide support to the individuals that we serve in our homes and/or in the community. Other duties may include clerical and administrative duties.

You should have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, supervisors and colleagues. Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is advantageous.
nBehavior Technician requirements are, but not limited to:
nnExperience in supporting people with disabilities.
nValid Drivers License.
nHave a high school diploma or equivalent.
nValid Auto insurance.
nReliable Transportation.
nAt least 18 years of age.

n nBehavior Technician responsibilities are:
nnProvide direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group therapy setting to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatments as directed by the supervisor.
nCollect and record data on patient behavior.
nCollaborate and communicate and assist with the training of clients, parents and staff.
nProvide a safe and supportive environment for patients and family.
nAssist and support people with maintaining their health and well-being.
nAssist and support people with utilizing their community and its resources.
nAssist and support people with their direct services and making informed choices.
nProvide a safe and supportive environment for patients and family.
nBe an advocate for people with disabilities educating the community on how to interact with individuals who have disabilities.
nMaintain strict confidentiality.
nComplete a 40-hour training program (conducted by a certified BACB) based on the RBT Task List.
nPass the RBT Competency Assessment administered by a certified BACB.
nWilling to travel within a 25 – 30 mile range
n nSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
n1. PROGRAM SERVICES
nnProvide information to team members obtained from meeting and assessments concerning the dreams, goals, strengths, and needs of the people you will support.
nInstruct people on strategies designed to help them achieve their goals and realize their personal outcomes. In both informal and formal settings, document the results for future use in determining progress in reaching set goals.
nAssist patients with managing their finances, maintenance and protection of personal belongings, arranging for transportation, and how to be active in the community.
nAssist patients with maintaining their homes, yards, and vehicles in compliance with health, safety, and company standards.
nSupport patients with personal appearance to include education on hygiene and grooming.
n n2. HEALTH SERVICES
nnMonitor and document health information continuously so that complete and accurate patient information is available in case of an emergency.
nAssist patients with administering their medications, scheduling/attending appointments, and understanding instructions given by health care providers.
nMeet patients' nutritional needs by encouraging them to eat healthy, follow dietary restrictions set forth by their physician, and prepare meals set in place by their dietician as needed.
n n3. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
nnBe sure to adhere to scheduled work hours. If an emergency occurs (accident, hospitalization, death in family), notify your supervisor prior to your work shift.
nMaintain patients' and workplace confidentiality.

nEmployees will maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with patients, employees, and persons employed by Shine Light.
