Job description

Job Title: Beverage Director

Reports To: Corporate Office

Direct Reports: All Bar/Beverage Staff

Compensation Package

Annual salary commensurate with experience and aligned with company compensation metrics

10 days (80 hours) vested paid vacation per year, earned by period

Key Areas of Performance

Bar/beverage/cocktail operations and menu development

HR & labor controls and procedures

Accounting, purchasing, and inventory control for beverage programs and bars

Basic IT, Microsoft Office, POS systems, spreadsheets

Public relations, kitchen and service support, office/admin/payroll support

Special events management

Maintenance of bar equipment and cleanliness

Supervisory Requirements

Supervises all bar staff for restaurant locations as assigned

Physical Demands, Work Environment

May be required to assist in restaurant operations, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and assistance with food production or service during critical periods.

Environment may involve extreme heat and wet, slippery floors; appropriate attire such as skid‑resistant shoes is required.

Position Summary

Responsible for overall performance of bar operations in restaurant locations within a defined region. The Beverage Director increases sales and profits through financial management and leadership, while providing direction and support to bar managers and staff to ensure effective operations and success of each location.

Essential Responsibilities – Sales and Profits

Develop and implement creative, targeted sales-building strategies for assigned restaurants.

Assist with annual sales projections, expense budgets, and capital expenditure budgets.

Meet or exceed budgeted sales and profit goals in the area.

Control expenses within established budget guidelines to maximize profits.

Identify and respond to labor efficiency issues.

Monitor restaurant management and employee schedules.

Assist restaurant leaders in identifying sales growth opportunities through merchandising and local marketing ideas.

Execute and follow up on financial results on a periodic basis and hold accountable for controllable results.

Essential Responsibilities – Operations and Quality Standards

Ensure all restaurants meet or exceed operations and quality standards.

Perform frequent visitations and provide performance assessments and action plans.

Maintain accurate assessment reports for each restaurant.

Enforce brand standards, company policies, and procedural compliance.

Maintain cleanliness, uniforms, and professional appearance across all locations.

Hospitality, Culture, and Community Involvement

Respond promptly to all customer issues to achieve guest satisfaction.

Monitor employee and guest engagement daily.

Encourage positive team culture through leadership guidance.

Promote corporate citizenship, social responsibility, and partnership opportunities with local organizations.

Recruiting and Retention

Manage staffing, training, and retention of management staff.

Maintain staffing levels in line with budgeted needs.

Collaborate with HR on recruitment, promotion development, and interview processes.

Conduct exit interviews for departing management.

Training and People Development

Conduct training for managers and bar staff on new products, policies, and procedures.

Develop and implement performance development tools and individual development plans.

Reinforce core company values and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.

Ensure bar managers hold regular meetings with staff for performance reviews.

Employee Relations and Policies

Document and manage performance evaluations and termination processes.

Investigate cash, harassment, or employment practice concerns.

Monitor compliance with internal audit controls, safety, security, and health department requirements.

Maintain employee files, payroll records, and ensure compliance with EEO and labor laws.

Support HR in audits and I‑9 compliance.

Administration

Prepare and review financial reports, P&L statements, and corrective actions.

Research and process invoices in a timely manner.

Provide monthly calendars of events, meetings, and store requirements.

Ensure bar staff complete nightly cash audits and timely payroll processing.

Respond promptly to internal communications.

Summary of Essential Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports.

Oversee controllable costs and pursue profit goals.

Implement company initiatives and marketing promotions effectively.

Develop employees through training and individual plans.

Maintain equipment and facilities compliance with brand standards and regulations.

Recruit, onboard, and retain staff to meet guest service standards.

Handle employee relations issues with appropriate involvement of HR.

Promote local marketing and outreach efforts.

Maintain security, sanitation, and guest satisfaction standards.

Ensure compliance with employment policies, brand standards, and regulations.

Maintain operational cash handling and inventory procedures.

Deliver strong commitment to guest satisfaction and overall job duties.

Position Qualifications

Four or more years of multi‑unit supervisory experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail.

Demonstrated success in beverage and cocktail development.

Understanding of Indian cuisine and its relation to bar development.

Advanced creativity and innovation in recipe development.

Knowledge of OSHA, EEOC, food safety procedures, and employment laws.

Basic computer skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, and POS systems.

Ability to perform all job duties of all bar positions.

Availability for a minimum of 55 hours per week.

Food Safety Manager certification required.

Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Basic math skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
