Bike and Snow Shop Assistant ManagerBackcountry Outlet is a new retail division built on a simple idea: expert gear guidance paired with accessible pricing. The ideal candidate has proficient knowledge in Ski and Snowboard tuning and Mounting, Bicycle repair and tuning knowledge, and the willingness to learn new tune machines.Backcountry Outlet is seeking a highly motivated and organized Shop Assistant Manager to assist our Store Manager in the daily operations of our brick-and-mortar retail and rental store. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the outdoors and have experience in Bike and Snow shop management, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have a big role within a fast-paced team.This position will report into the Retail Store Manager.What You'll Do:Assist the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the retail/rental store, including rental inventory, shop supply inventory, shop scheduling, and more.Ensure that the shop is always clean, organized and well-stockedAssist the Store Manager in opening and closing the storeEnsure the store is properly secured, and alarm systems are functioning correctlyManage cash and credit card transactions, and perform daily cash reconciliationsMaintain accurate inventory levels, conduct regular inventory audits, and report any discrepancies to the store managerTrain and supervise shop staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about all processes and the products we sell and provide exceptional customer serviceProtect store assets following loss prevention and safety standardsDevelop and maintain relationships with customers to build customer loyalty and repeat businessAssist in the development and implementation of processes to increase shop efficiencyMaintain tune and mount schedulingSchedule employees to run tune, rental, and Ski shopTrain employees in proper operation and safety of shopWhat You Bring:2-3 years of experience in Snow shop management2-3 years of experience in Bike shop managementPassion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and apparelExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesStrong leadership and team management skillsKnowledge of retail operationsProficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systemsAbility to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings and weekendsPhysical Requirements:Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customersAbility to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a timeAbility to move about the store coaching and directing associates; selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from stockroom or sales floorAbility to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floorAbility to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandiseAbility to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish workMust have a flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidaysRegular and predictable attendance$24 - $28 an hour
