Job description

Bilingual Food Production Technician II Meat Processing Plant RogersThe Food Production Technician will comply with Company policies, procedures, and safety standards during the manufacturing process to manufacture food products. The role will be responsible for live animal handling, slaughtering, packing, BRC collection, and sanitation. The Food Production Technician will also provide timely notice and seek the guidance of management to navigate through manufacturing issues.Essential Duties, Functions, and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for live room attendant and sanitationSlaughtering room procedures that includes stunning, blood catching, skinning, transferring, operating a brain saw and chiller, gutting, pre-op, euthanizing, foot cutting, trimming, grading, racking, and heart and liver collection.Biological research collection (BRC) procedures that include stunning, drawing blood, harvesting raw materials, cervical dislocation, and inspection.Packing procedures that include operating a packing saw and cryovac, working the packing line, functioning as head of the line, bagging, casing, order packing, cooler/freezer, and completing fresh order paperwork.Understand and promote the quality system as part of the Company's overall goal toward continual improvement through strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as actively supporting and upholding the principles and values of the company.Comply with Pel-Freez, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, food safety standards, general safety, animal welfare, and good manufacturing practices.Exhibit exemplary attendance andPerform other duties asAccurate data entry into a computer and transferring data to paperworkQuality checks on production operationsCompiling data from several sources into one databaseCreating spreadsheets in excelCommunicating data to other departmentsAssisting lead in duties/taking on back up lead duties when lead is absentBased on the essential duties listed above, this position is considered safety-sensitive and therefore all work must be performed following quality standards and established safety procedures.Education & Related ExperienceA high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferredPrevious experience working in food production is preferredBack up lead/lead experience preferredComputer and paperwork entryMicrosoft Office experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge and understanding of safety procedures and industry regulations and guidelines required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).BilingualLeading employees to accomplish specific tasksCommunicating with various levels of managementExcellent communication and time managementStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizationalA focused individual capable of repeatedly exerting physical strength to safely lift and transport heavyDemonstrated ability to safely and efficiently operate various types of hand and power tools, machinery, knives and saws, and other equipment to complete work tasks.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of aAbility to follow verbal instructions, and learn competencies required of the position in a reasonable amount of time.The ability to maintain great attention to detail and meet established quality standards while managing tasks of completing priorities.The ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changingThe ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.The ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures, and all applicable state and federal laws.Supervisory Responsibilities and Interactions with OthersThe Food Production Technician has no supervisory.
