Job description
Billing AnalystProvides professional and technical billing support to the Department of Anesthesiology and the Pain Institute. Analyzes all aspects of the Physician/Technical billings to ensure compliance and reimbursement maximization. Responsibilities include coding encounters for diagnosis and CPT codes and ensuring that they are properly entered into the system. Ensure that billing is obtained and charges entered for all providers in each practice site. Reviews physician and hospital billing practices against documentation in the medical record to ensure compliance with all federal, state and third-party billing requirements, rules and regulations. Works denials on both physician and hospital accounts by reviewing and providing solutions. Submits authorizations for outpatient procedures and any subsequent follow-up. Maintains and reports month-end accruals and monthly revenue reports. Ensures appropriate ASA coding for Anesthesia billing to maximize reimbursement.Education/Training/Experience:Associate's Degree preferredHigh School Diploma (or equivalency)Typing, basic computer skillsPrevious anesthesia billing/posting experience preferredMinimum of 2 years current physician billing/coding experience requiredKnowledge of medical terminology and billing codes requiredEpic billing/revenue experience preferredLicenses/Certifications:Physical Demands Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
