A growing industry leader is seeking an experienced Manager, Billing Operations to lead and optimize billing functions within a high-volume Financial Shared Services environment . This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of operational excellence, process improvement, people leadership, and digital transformation.
The successful candidate will oversee a team responsible for billing operations across North America while driving automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. Experience working within a shared services center is required, and experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-entity organization is highly preferred.
What You'll Do
Billing Operations Leadership
Lead day-to-day billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoice generation, delivery, and customer support.
Manage billing performance metrics, including invoice accuracy, cycle times, productivity, and service levels.
Partner with Accounts Receivable, Collections, Cash Application, Customer Service, and Finance teams to support a seamless order-to-cash process.
Resolve complex billing issues, customer disputes, and escalations through collaboration and root-cause analysis.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and month-end close requirements.
Process Improvement & Transformation
Drive modernization initiatives focused on automation, workflow optimization, analytics, and electronic invoicing.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate manual tasks, reduce inefficiencies, and improve scalability.
Leverage data and performance insights to improve operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Support ongoing transformation efforts and help implement new technologies and best practices across the billing function.
Leadership & Team Development
Coach, mentor, and develop a team of billing professionals.
Establish a culture of accountability, service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Lead organizational change initiatives and support adoption of new systems, processes, and technologies.
Build strong relationships across business units and serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders throughout the organization.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, Order-to-Cash, or Shared Services operations.
Prior leadership experience managing billing or transaction-processing teams.
Strong experience working within a Shared Services organization supporting multiple business units, locations, or entities.
Proven success leading process improvement, standardization, and operational excellence initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or equipment-based organization .
Experience with customer invoicing portals such as Coupa, Ariba, Tungsten, Taulia, or similar platforms.
Exposure to automation, workflow technologies, reporting platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.
Experience supporting complex, multi-site, or multi-entity environments.
