Job description
JOB SUMMARY: Create customer invoices, credit memos, update customer files, maintain collections targets, review and maintain project accuracy, maintain scheduling system as needed, routinely perform customer invoicing audits and mentor billing specialists I and II.

Receive and review billing records from field techs ensuring compliance with SMS policies and procedures.
Review customer contracts/proposals and insure compliance.
Identify, calculate and input appropriate adjustments as necessary.
Maintain a variety of files and records in various computer systems and spreadsheets related to SMS' payroll system and general accounting functions.
Maintain various logs, registers and procedures according to established account classifications to ensure proper invoicing.
Identify customers with unsettled invoices outside of the established acceptable aging ranges and launch collection procedures.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of the billing process for all services and products.
Maintain timely billing and invoice accuracy.
Ability to work on special projects as needed.
Perform customer invoicing audits.
Active participant in business office and collections staff meetings.
Maintain a scheduling system as needed.
Mentor less experienced billers.
QUALIFICATIONS: 4 years of billing experience (or college degree plus 2.5 years of billing experience) and data entry required; oil and gas industry experience preferred
High School Diploma required
Possess intermediate skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work under the pressure of meeting strict deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
Ability to prioritize and work autonomously
