Billing SpecialistThe Billing Specialist will monitor daily activity and productivity and will also serve as the primary resource to staff and patients for questions related to billing.QualificationsKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiologyKnowledge of medical billing and collection practicesKnowledge of governmental legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activitiesWrites, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent EnglishMulticultural sensitivityStrong verbal and written communicationStrong interpersonal skillsStrong computer skillsAbility to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and proceduresAbility to work as a team memberResponsibilitiesBilling FunctionsCommunicate status of billing responsibilities to Billing Supervisor on a regular basis.Provide support and training to new employees in the functions related to billing.Monitor daily billing activity/productivity (i.e., timeliness of posting of charges/payments, collection of co-payments, etc.)Share responsibility through timely communication of identified problems to assure proper follow-up is completed and ensure proper paymentWork accounts in assigned queues in accordance with the department protocolsMaintain daily reconciliation/balancing documents per protocol.About UsDiscover the job, the career, the purpose you were meant for. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
