Billing Specialist - PhysicianReports to: Billing ManagerGeneral Summary of Duties: Certified Professional Coder preferred, needed for a large orthopedic practice in Providence.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Researches all information needed to complete the billing process including posting payments into the practice management systemFollow up on claims, including tracking denials, resolving underpayments in a timely manner, managing refunds, and filing appealsAssist with answering billing callsAdditional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needsRequirements:Minimum of 3 years of billing experience in a health care organization, CPT and ICD-10 knowledge, aging and collection processing.Orthopedics surgical billing experience preferredInterpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients, physicians, and staffOrganizational skills to schedule time appropriatelyAbility to follow collection account to a successful conclusionKnowledge of third-party billing and other collection skillsMust be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
