More specifically, these important responsibilities include:Billing assigned inpatient, outpatient, ER, nursing home, and swing bed accounts, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Second BillingsFollowing up when necessary to ensure collectionCommunicating with insurance companies on unpaid claims to obtain a settlement of claimsMaking recommendations for adjustments to those accounts as neededAssisting patients in the billing process by answering questions and researching and solving problemsAssisting other billers and other billers' patients when requestedGenerating required reportsStaying up to date on billing methodsQualifications:High school diploma or GEDMinimum of one to two years of billing experienceAdditional training in accounting or the medical field is preferredComputer literacy, including accounting software and spreadsheetsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and conduct statistical analysisGood communication skills, both written and oral, in the English languageFacilitation skills to support and work cooperatively with staff, patients, and external partiesEssential Job Functions:Regular and predictable attendance is requiredRegularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretchRequires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, copy machine, telephone, calculator, and other office equipmentRequires normal range of hearing and eyesightOccasionally requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 poundsMust comply with HIPAA policiesMust wear PPE as required to maintain infection control standardsWork Environment:FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patientsThis role is performed in typical office conditions with a low noise levelThe Location:Located in southeast Idaho, Franklin County is surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, giving ample opportunity for outdoor recreation.
