The Gibson portfolio includes Gibson, the leading guitar brand, as well as many beloved and recognizable music brands, including Epiphone, Kramer, Gibson Amps, KRK, and Maestro.Job SummaryThe mission of the binder is the application of thin strips of plastic to the slot routed around the edge of the guitar body. Binders do so in order to provide an aesthetically pleasing accent to the guitar, as well as protect the edge from damage. Alternating patterns and thicknesses of binding provide a unique look to each series of Gibson guitars and vary from a single black strip to more ornate abalone inlays.Essential FunctionsLearn and execute standard operating proceduresMust be able to lift, move, and bind a guitar in an average of 15/20 minutesAfter training is complete, (3 weeks) a binder will bind 4 guitars per hour, roughly 24 guitars in an 8-hour shift95% pass rate based on production requirementsUnderstands and meets quality standards (Specifications)Maintains product flow at appropriate rateAdheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)Adherence to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety RulesObligation to submit Safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR codeSupport the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processesOther duties as assigned.Required Skills/AbilitiesDevelop a strong understanding of the modelsStrong attention to detailExcellent written and oral communication skillsSolutions oriented approach to challenges/issuesOutstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervisionTeamwork and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a teamResults oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to planFlexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
