The Urologist will provide direct patient care, focusing on outpatient and inpatient urology services. This role involves clinical evaluations, surgical procedures, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality care.\ N
Qualifications:
\ N
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.\ N
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU). Successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology (minimum 3 years in Urological surgery).\ N
Duties and Responsibilities: \ N
- Provide direct patient care (approx. 90% of time) in outpatient clinic and inpatient settings.\ N
- Perform urological procedures including cystoscopies, vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries, and bladder cancer treatments.\ N
- Conduct inpatient rounds and coordinate referrals as needed.\ N
- Perform major procedures (lymphatic, abdominal, prostate, urethra, ureter, bladder, kidney, scrotum, testes, penis, epididymis, spermatic cord).\ N
- Utilize holmium laser, ESWL, and fluoroscopy.\ N
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions.\ N
- Participate in specialty exams (e.G., compensation and pension, Agent Orange evaluations).\ N
- Adhere to VA medication policies (no sample medications).\ N
