Job description
Heavy Duty Truck Repair Technician
Repairs damaged body parts of heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Servicing dedicated brands of Freightliner and Western Star trucks.
Essential Duties
Examine damage heavy and medium-duty trucks
Document all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on in-house business system(s) via a repair order
Prepare and repair vehicle per estimate according to manufacturer standards
De-trim, disassemble and repair vehicle with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Assist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if needed
Maintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required company training
Occasional periods of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management
Recognize and report all accidents and hazardous conditions
Promote workplace safety procedures
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' experience working on heavy/medium duty trucks
Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized to in heavy truck repair
Possess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
A neat and organized approach to work & reporting
Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to meet attendance requirement
Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
Must pass a respirator fit test
