Description
The Boiler Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities involving ammonia refrigeration systems, engines, boilers, production equipment, and facility systems. This hands-on leadership role supervises maintenance personnel, prioritizes work orders, supports safe and reliable plant operations, and ensures compliance with company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Prioritize maintenance work orders and schedule mechanics based on urgency and operational needs.
Supervise and support maintenance personnel while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Monitor production areas and critical equipment to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
Lead maintenance activities involving ammonia refrigeration systems, engines, boiler/steam systems, and related equipment.
Perform and oversee skilled maintenance work including mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing, hydraulics, and equipment repair.
Monitor and maintain refrigeration, boiler, steam, and production systems through routine inspections, lubrication, troubleshooting, and repair or replacement of components.
Maintain a strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems and ammonia safety requirements.
Participate in the HAZMAT and emergency response team and maintain preparedness for emergency situations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and all applicable PSM policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education: Required experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler/steam systems.
Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, systems, and safety practices.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial engines and mechanical systems.
Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
