Bookkeeper PositionAspen Fiber Networks is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and growth-minded bookkeeper to help lead and strengthen the company's day-to-day accounting operations. This role is designed for a professional who is evolving beyond a traditional bookkeeping function and is ready to take on team leadership, workflow accountability, and expanded financial oversight.The bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the core accounting support functions, improving process consistency, maintaining accurate financial records, and helping ensure timely reporting, billing, collections, vendor processing, and coordination with the company's external CPA. This role plays an important part in supporting operational stability, financial discipline, and scalable growth.ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable Oversight Supervise and support A/R processes, including customer onboard billing setup, invoice accuracy, collections follow-up, and payment postingHelp maintain strong receivables controls and aging managementReview customer account activity for discrepancies and assist in resolving billing issuesMonitor collection efforts and support timely cash flow improvementAccounts Payable Oversight Supervise A/P processes, including vendor onboarding, invoice entry, coding, purchase documentation, and payment workflow coordinationHelp ensure invoices are entered accurately and processed in a timely mannerMaintain organized vendor files and support internal purchasing controlsReview transactions for completeness, supporting documentation, and coding consistencyFinancial Controls and Reporting Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and organized supporting documentationSupport reporting workflows for sales, cost of goods sold, and budget validationPrepare and review aging reports, transaction summaries, and internal accounting schedulesHelp identify coding issues, reporting gaps, and process inefficienciesPromote consistency in accounting procedures and internal controlsTax and CPA Coordination Coordinate with the company's external CPA for federal tax filings and accounting support needsAssist with gathering records, preparing schedules, and maintaining organized tax-related documentationSupport sales tax and other recurring reporting and filing requirements as assignedHelp ensure records are audit-ready and CPA-ready throughout the yearTeam Leadership and Process Management Provide day-to-day supervision and accountability for accounting support workflowsHelp train, guide, and support accounting staff as the department growsAssist leadership in developing improved processes, controls, and standard operating proceduresTrack deadlines and ensure timely completion of recurring accounting tasksFoster a culture of accuracy, responsiveness, accountability, and continuous improvement
