This year, Allegion also received Gallup's With Distinction honor — a designation reserved for a select group of organizations that go above and beyond in building exceptional workplace cultures.Primary DutiesPress-brake and machine operationPosition, align, and secure forming dies and adjust ram stroke to suit gauge of material, angles or contoursSet stop gauges to conform with dimensional specifications, templates or samplesSelect and load proper raw material and unload completed parts as requiredDetermine sequence of bends on multiple press operations for work having a series of bends at various angles and in different planesImprovise set-ups to form special shapes having single or compound radii, angle flanges, etc, which require considerable care in ram adjustments to avoid surface irregularitiesSet up and align adjustable punching, slotting, notching dies and gauging devices for multiple series punching on a long strip, sheet, or angle workFollow standardized methods of workSkills/AbilitiesAbility to follow directions and work from written or verbal instructions (strong reading comprehension), including drawings, specifications, templates and samplesAbility to use press-brake and related machineryStrong attention to detailAbility to perform basic math functionsAbility to work well with othersAbility to communicate well with othersundefinedWork EnvironmentContinuous exposure to mechanical hazards and moving objectsFrequent exposure to temperature extremes and noise levels of >80 dbOccasional exposure to: humid/arid conditions, cramped quarters, vibrations, fumes, dust, mists, gases, allergens, insect bites, and material handling equipmentPhysical DemandsContinuous use of touch and finger movementMust have the ability to speak and hear clearlyMust be able to see well including depth perception and the ability to distinguish between colorsRequires continuous or near continuous standing and balancingRequires frequent (4 or more hours per day): lifting (up to 50 pounds)Occasional walking, sitting, carrying (25-50 lbs), climbing, pushing & pulling of heavy carts, stooping, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and reaching (overhead and to the side) may be requiredExpected Hours of Work8 hour shifts M-F with weekend and daily overtime hours as required for productionRequired Education and ExperiencePlease note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee.
