Job description
Brake Press OperatorThis position is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to specifications in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. The candidate will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, select proper tooling, inspect finished parts, and maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.Ensuring safety is always the #1 priority.Sets up and operates brake press machines in accordance with production specifications and work orders.Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and job instructions.Selects proper tooling and dies for each job and adjusts machine settings as needed.Inspects and measures finished parts for accuracy using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools.Monitors machine performance and makes necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.Maintains a clean and organized work area.Follows all safety guidelines and company procedures.Maintains open communication with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.Must communicate in a timely and effective manner.Must be able to follow directions and complete follow through with directions.One or more years of experience operating a brake press or other metal-forming equipment preferred.Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.Basic math skills and understanding of measurements.Willingness to work overtime or different shifts if required.Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.Use of PPE in production settings required.Occasional lifting, bending, repetitive motion, and extended standing/walking.Off-shift, overtime, or weekend support may be required.Competitive salary based on experienceMedical (PPO and HDHP plans), dental, vision insuranceShort and long-term disabilityAccident, hospital, and critical illness insurance availableCompany-paid life insuranceVoluntary life insurance for family members401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for growth, advancement, and continued training
